I spent 16 years on the government side of government contracting. As a Contracting Officer, I bought or managed over $3 Billion in products and services for everything from R&D to aircraft to professional services. As a CO, I noticed that even though there are lots of resources for people trying to succeed in this market, many were still struggling.
Why?
In 2011, I figured it out: because they did not know what they did not know. They had plenty of CONTENT, but they did not have CONTEXT. My idea was to bring them that context by giving them the Contracting Officer’s perspective.
In 2011, I started building Skyway’s team of former COs and industry pros to fill that gap in context. The idea was that having the CO’s perspective would make our customers more prepared, more competitive, and more effective in this market.
It turns out I was right.
We spent the first 3 years helping companies win over 90% of the contracts (totaling over $1 Billion in contract revenue).
In 2014, we raised the bar again by creating the Contracting Officer Podcast. The CO Podcast is a free weekly podcast where we share our experience from both sides of the market. The CO Podcast currently has over 11,000 listens/month by people across the globe.
In 2015, we launched the Skyway Community to meet the increasing demand for our training, consulting, and CONTEXT in this market. The interactive Skyway Community gives members on-demand access to premium content, member-requested training, and as-needed consulting support from our team of former COs.
